A small plunge into The Office Season Six

The engagement ring sparkles on Jenna Fischer’s annualry

People Magazine has confirmed that ‘The Office’ star Jenna Fischer has got engaged. Jenna, 35, and Lee Kirk, 37, a writer got engaged on June 30 while enjoying their vacations in Europe. The couple has been dating since January, 2008 but they kept mum about their relationship until September, 2008.

Their affair became public at the Emmy Awards in September, 2008 when Fisher said, “my super-cute boyfriend”. It might be the sweetest compliment Kirk have ever receivedJ. No ‘confirmation’ about the sixth season of ‘The Office’

The announcement made by Angela Bromstad, president, Primetime Entertainment forced me to italicize the word confirmation in the title of the post. The words were like “We want the devoted fans of these series to know that we are thrilled that these quality programs will be back with the same high-caliber episodes that viewers have come to expect”. The show under consideration, other than ‘The Office‘, was ‘30 Rock’. The confirmation of the sixth season of The Office is meaningless, as long as nobody knows when it’d be premiered and how many episodes it’d have. It has been several months since the announcement of the season was made but not a single word from Network’s side has come after that. It has left the fans wondering about the future of the show.

Till May 14, 2009, fans of the series were not very apprehensive as The Office was on air with the fifth season and they were sure that before the season would end, some announcement regarding the next season would be made. But, as the episode entitled ‘Company Picnic’ marked the end of the fifth season, all fans of The Office’, were left high and dry as no body had any idea about the future of the show. Looking into the matter gives me just a single conclusion that the NBC Network is planning to drive the curiosity of the fans to its extreme. Details are being kept hidden and would be. A little review of The Office season 5 finale, ‘Company Picnic’ for those who couldn’t catch it. Here, we saw that Michael and Holly joined up as it was the annual Dunder Mifflin company picnic. Did you have ‘Moroccan Christmas’?

Nay… I am definitely not talking about the recent Christmas celebrations. Actually, it’s the title of the recent episode of ‘The Office’ TV show . As very usual, it was an interesting episode and as you know, I always write reviews on interesting episodes so today I am here with latest episode of ‘The Office’ entitled ‘Moroccan Christmas’.

It was the tenth episode of the fifth season of the show and was aired on December 11, 2008. We’ve already seen two other Christmas themed episodes of ‘The Office’ TV show and it was the third one. We saw that Phyllis, the head of the Party Planning Committee, threw a Moroccan themed Christmas party. Alcohol was being served and Meredith was in full mood to take full advantage of it. She got drunk and started dancing around. Ultimately, her hair caught fire putting her on the risk. However, Dwight put out the fire but it resulted in a halt for a well-going party. Later, Michael and Meredith had a confrontation over the issue of her drinking.

Next, Michael asked Meredith to come with him, making her believe that they’re going to a bar but took her to the rehabilitation center. When Meredith came to know the reality, she tried to escape but he caught her and dragged her into the centre. His all attempts failed when staff denied to treat anyone against his/her will.

Later, Dwight was seen determining the most popular toy of the current Christmas season. He bought several dolls from local toy stores and announces that he’s going to pay dolls to desperate parents for an enormous profit. Toby wanted to buy a doll for Sasha, his daughter so that he could irritate his ex-wife and be the hero of the Christmas. But he discovered that Darryl had bought the only remaining doll. He asked Darryl to give it to him who agreed to sell it for twice the price. Ultimately, deal got settled and Toby got the doll. Business Trip for ‘The Office’

No, I am not trying to plan a trip for ‘The Office‘, but ‘Business Trip’ was the name of the last episode of the series that was aired on November 13. The series is currently running into its fifth season and being a regular viewer of the series, I thought that I should write how much I love the series.

As I have already said that I watch the show on regular basis and that I have been following the series from season one. Till date I have never felt that even a single episode was a waste of time. Most of the times I feel that they are not portraying characters, as the situations and people to me are so much real. I generally feel that they are portraying one or the other situations from my office and that makes the series my all the more favorite as I can so very well relate to the situations. Again, that is one reason why I in particular so much like the series and especially the last episode.

In the last episode, a lot of focus was thrown on the official and personal lives of the characters. On the one hand, Michael, Andy and Oscar are sent on a business trip to Winnipeg and on the other hand there are others whose personal lives are getting better. Here, I am talking about Ryan and Kelly, who are back with each other. And there are others who are waiting for things to get in order for them. Now isn’t that so much like our everyday situations in office. And that is the only reason why I watch the series on regular basis, at times I even get solutions to many of my problems from the series. I am sure people who are working in offices will agree with me. If you guys agree with me then you can share it with me.

Steve Carell gets another movie

Steve Carell who has been playing one of the central characters in the hit comedy series ‘The Office‘ has recently signed up for the lead role in the comedy film ‘Brigadier Gerard’. It is considered that this film is best suited to demonstrate Carell’s comedy talent. We have also seen his amazing performance in the film ‘Get Smart’ and the television series ‘The Office’.

In ‘The Office’ he plays Michael, one of the central characters in the series. He is the regional manager of the Scranton branch of paper distribution company Dunder Mifflin.

He has a really funny role in the series where he insists that everyone in the office think of him as a friend first, a boss second, and probably an entertainer third. He tries to provoke a lot of laughter by saying inappropriate things, which are actually not funny for his colleagues. Steve has done justice to his role in ‘The Office‘ and has made us laugh.

As far as the film is concerned, it is based on a collection of short stories penned by Arthur Conan Doyle, author of Sherlock Holmes. The film revolves around Etienne Gerard, a solider who is overconfident when it comes to his swordsman skills. However, his actual skills fade off when brought in light and compared with his actual conception.

Well, we all hope that Carell will perform very nicely in his upcoming film as he has done in the past and keep entertaining his fans with his good work. Here’s wishing him all the very best for his new project.

Drugs in The office???

Just as The Office is about to hit the screen for the next season, Craig Robinson playing the role of Daryl was charged with possessing drugs including ecstasy when he was asked to pull over by a traffic cops in Los Angles. He was arrested on June 29. Robinson can avoid jail term if he pleads guilty to drug possession.

Law requires of him to stay clean and complete all therapy sessions before all charges are dropped.

It could not have come on a more inappropriate time when Robinson was riding high on the success of his biggest film role in Pineapple Expresss. He has won a lot of critical acclaim for his role as an atypical hit man in the movie. What’s more, his movie called Zack and Miri make a porno is scheduled to be released in October this year.

It’s quite true that it’s one thing to be successful and another to handle success. Seems that Robinson is drunk high on his recent achievements. What a pity! He is such a good actor and I am sure that his potential is yet untapped. It would be such a shame if we were to ever lose him to drugs and scandal.

Hats off to writers

Yes, writers deserve appreciation, especially when they are writers from The Office, kinda hit series. All the credit of show’s popularity goes first to Greg Daniels, the creator and writer of the show, then comes the turn of rest of the writers like Jennifer Celotta, Michael Schur and the team. If you love the characters of a series then you are bound to love their creators. I am a huge fan of ‘The Office’ and I am really impressed by the writers. They create such an intelligent humor for every episode. Can you guys answer to my questions? These writers often stay calm and quiet and hardly speak even in the parties and other ceremonies related to the show. They look like boring creatures to the world, then how their words and thoughts carry such strength that we can’t help but applaud their quotes. They seem boring and they come out with the unbelievable imagination and fantasy in the scenes. The most difficult thing is to create a character and then maintain that character in balance with others. Like, in ‘The Office’ many characters are my favorites and even with passing seasons, I have not lost interest in them. Like Meredith, she makes her presence felt every time because her character is so very well written.

Most intelligently written character is Ryan, who is a temporary character and it is found later on that he is cheating the company and I laughed when he gets arrested the whole staff shoots it on their mobile phones. The other interesting character is Andy Bernard, who has been keeping a ring in his wallet for the last six years because he thinks that he can meet his right girl at any moment. Finally he proposes Angela with the same ring. Angela and Dwight are also praise worthy people and you exactly know why, if not then watch the episode ‘Goodbye Toby‘. Here, Toby leaves for Costa Rica. You know I really enjoy fractions between Michael and Toby. It’s really a rocking show and someday it is going to kill somebody with such heavy dose of laughter.

Get ready for the webisodes…..now

Hey! It is time for ‘The Office‘ webisodes. It’s like summer gift for ‘The Office’ fans. As per the buddy TV reports these webisodes will be short and sweet and centered upon Kevin. Cool. I think these will be there within two days. I am quite excited and I love this trend of webisodes. ‘The Office’ guys are making it pretty fast.

The fourth season just had its finale in May 2008, and now it is here with its webisodes in the month of July. I would love to watch the fat Kevin, he is so cute. Whenever I feel like laughing, ‘The Office’ is my destination. That’s why I normally come here to watch its episodes when it is off screen. Thanks to the show runners that this doesn’t take long in coming back. I think that’s why this is the most popular show and everybody’s favorite. Why not, it has won uncountable number of awards for the cast as well as for the show itself.
This is never enough to watch ‘The Office’ episodes once, so I have seen it’s each episode several times. I download at least five episodes every weekend. I liked the first season and the fourth season the most. In the first season, it was in the introductory mode and was quite fresh. So it entertained me a lot and the first season is most responsible for keeping me hooked up to the show till now. Every character has been given equal importance and an equal chance to make the viewers laugh hard. The fourth season is my favorite because the story made huge developments in this season even the bold things happened there. The romances reached the advanced stages. Do you remember what Angela and Dwight did in office at the end of the fourth season?

You know what is most exciting thing about the show? Well I like the frequent changes in love affairs. In this anybody can start dating anybody suddenly and can leave that person too on the very next day for no reason. This stupidity is the real fun factor of the show.

Steve Carell not leaving The office

Hey buddies, good news here. Steve (Micheal Scott) is not leaving ‘The Office’. Earlier I heard rumors that he was leaving and frankly guys that was such devastating news for me coz I like his performance and I can say that I watch the show only because of him. If he leaves the show then there is no use of keeping that show on TV. He is the life of this show.

You know it’s a crucial matter and worth consideration when stars make their identity from a show and finally say bye to that show after they start receiving better proposals for other TV shows and movies. When the main character of the show gets replaced then it cuts off a quarter of show’s fun. Audiences take time to get used to the new face. For many episodes, we stay confused and keep looking for the old face; it becomes difficult to accept a new face in place of the face that you have been watching for the last two years. But I can’t say the same about Steve. First of all he didn’t get popular because of this show; he was already a popular comedian and still is the same. But yea, I must say that he had to show some courtesy to the show as he won two Emmy Awards, one in 2006 and 2007 each, for working in this Comedy series. So, this is a wise decision by him that he dropped the idea of leaving the show for movies and other TV stuff.

One thing which I forgot to write is that The Office is in Emmy Awards nomination list in the category of best comedy series. It is among the top ten nominations and may be it can win too, because of the presence of such a brilliant comedian on the show. Great going Steve! We have our eyes on the spin off.

Aziz Ansari to join ‘The office’ Spin off

MTV’s Human Giant fame Aziz Ansari will be the new face in NBC’s show ‘The Office‘ the Spin off. This Spin off is said to be the biggest project of the year. It will feature the stand up comedian Aziz, reportedly signed as one of the stars of the show and the first actor to be attached to the series. Aziz is called one third of the MTV’s Human Giant sketch team.

If this news doesn’t make you jump off your seat then you should know that Ansari was also tapped to play one of the new interns on the eighth season of ‘Scrubs’, produced by and to be aired on ABC. At present Ansari is the hottest name around Hollywood casting circles.
Nonetheless Ansari is a funny stand up and does a great job on ‘Human Giant’, where he has played funny office drones to perfection a few times. He should play well with whosoever Greg Daniels and Mike Schur put him together with.

Here are the rumors that the spin off will be semi related to the original series and it’s not gonna be like the traditional one, as no current cast members will join the new show. There are speculations that the new cast members might appear on ‘The Office‘ to introduce the new show. It is also possible that the show may take place in a setting related to ‘The Office’, like paper mill or paper recycling plant.

The inside reporters have mentioned that Daniel and Schur have hired a writing staff, but are still unsure about how the show should be introduced. We can just hope that it will survive for longer and will be better than the previous spin offs of the shows.

Birthday bells for Kate Flannery

Its time for birthday bells in ‘The Office‘, Kate Flannery playing Meredith Palmer turned 44 on 10^th of June. This reminds me of her birthday in the first season, she was an accountant over there and all of her colleagues threw a birthday party for her one month prior to her birthday. I am one step ahead of them as I am wishing her belated birthday. Well, the lady is amazing in her role, and an experienced actress can do so well in the role of a drunk and sex addict woman.

She gets a promotion in the same season and gets promoted as Customer/Relations Purchasing. She is twice divorcee and the reason is obvious her drinking problem. She has a son too and she finds a baby sitter for him in the second season.

She is the funniest character in ‘The Office’, I think. Every year she makes resolutions that she will quit drinking and after a few days she is found doing disrupting things while drunk. You know I must compliment the creator of this character, he sure has brains. First of all she is drunkard and then a lady and above all a sex addict too. She can’t recall with whom she slept with, while she was drunk. Her acting is superb in this role and she does justice to her character.

At least, I laugh more at her acts as compared to the others. I like watching this show repeatedly and normally whenever I visit here to watch episodes of ‘The Office‘, I chose those episodes in which Meredith is present. I love her whenever she instructs people around her to not to speak loudly even when they are on normal pitch. She has her background in theatre and all the theatre actresses invariably do wonder when they reach silver screen, so is she. Do watch her when she points out that lights are really sharp whenever she enters the office. Her each and every act on the show spreads laughter. I think she is the only senior most female actress on the show, the old wine, one can say.

Goodbye Toby review

This episode opened with a classic Jim-teases-Dwight sequence and the rest of the episode seemed to draw more from the UK origin of the series. More focus was on character beats and story rather than jokes and outright gags. Download it here.

In a nutshell, I’d say that day was a pretty sad for Scranton bunch employees. Okay, first of all, Dwight was seeing Angela but later agrees to marry Candy. Oh! Poor Jim as Andy steales his plan to propose Pam. Toby, a brokenhearted man is in his quest to have a few pictures with Pam before he goes and leaves everything behind. Yeah, we got that Ryan has been arrested for fraud.

Okay, it’s Michael now; he really has developed into one of the extremely fascinating and enduring characters on TV. He is, first and foremost, insufferable. He’s a dreadful and horribly selfish boss and yeah of course a socially retarded man-cum-child. Michael gets excited about Holly, the new HR rep.

Dwight and Meredith harass Holly. A terrific addition was made to the cast and that was Amy Ryan who brought uniqueness to the character. Michael plans a huge goodbye party. Angela refuses to help so Michael turns to Phyllis. Here’s my best pick of the episode:

Holly: Hi.
Kevin: Hi.
Holly: What do you do?
Kevin: I do the numbers.
Holly: Oh, good for you.

(After proposing to Angela)
Andy: Mr. Andrew Bernard—got a nice ring to it.

This was the season 4 finale, which left some interesting threads that will be picked up in the next season. I‘d say that each character has ended in a way where lot of questions are to be answered. What do you say?

Night Out- Review

‘Night Out‘ another ‘The Office‘ episode was aired on April 24, 2008 and was a satisfying but not a rib tickling episode, which we
expect from ‘The Office’ episodes. The episode begins with Ryan making a visit to the office. He is shown to have various professional and personal problems.

Michael is lonely and gets the idea that Ryan meets an unbelievable woman in New York night club.

Michael drives towards New York to find Ryan and come to meet with some beautiful gals. But poor Michael as those chicks are much younger than Michael. That doesn’t stop Dwight from getting hooked up with a college basketball player.

On the other hand, Jim suggests everyone to catch up with the work and wants them to stay late at office otherwise they’ll have to come on Saturday to finish the work in required time. Meanwhile, security locks up the parking and the whole group ends up trapped inside. A football is thrown accidentally by Pam into Meredith’s face and it was my LOL scene.

The group decides that it’s only the security guard who can let them go out. With this episode, I found that Ryan really has a cocaine problem and got hints when Ryan doesn’t try to ditch Michael at club. It seems that Ryan doesn’t have any true friends and we also discovered that Ryan finds out that putting his hope in Michael is not very beneficial.

The great moment that I found was when Toby and Pam laugh about something and Toby puts his hand on Pam’s knee. Toby’s love for Pam- let’s see where will it finish? My fave picks from the episode:

Michael: Would you have sex with Meredith?
Jim: What?
Michael: Do you think she’d keep it quiet?
Jim: I’m gonna go to my desk.

Pam: There is a master key and a spare key for the office. Dwight has them both. When I asked, “What if you die, Dwight? How will we get into the office?” He said, “If I’m dead, you guys have been dead for weeks.”

Over all, the episode was good but it could have been better and I expect more drama and fun in the upcoming episodes. Well, what will happen with Ryan and how he would help Michael, answers will be there but after the next episode. The Dinner Party on The Office

The first post-strike episode ‘The Dinner Party‘ was finally aired on April, 10. I am one of the fandom who is so excited about the episode because the episode ended a long hiatus. The office fans can never forget that WGA strike because it took The Office away from us.

But now the black period is over and …..it’s back baby ! It is unquestionably good to see the whole stars back. The episode exactly picked up from where the episode ‘The Deposition’ had left.

Episode begins with Michael’s ploy to get Jim and Pam for dinner. Some uncontrollable emotions were on Jim’s face when he realizes that he doesn’t have a plan and can’t get out of it. Things started getting worst from worse when Jim and Pam arrive at Michael’s condo. Andy and Angels are also asked to join them. When they arrive it seems that these are the guests who can make things a little bit awkward. Jim asks Pam to leave by saying that they have to go as his apartment is flooded. At that moment Michael says, “It doesn’t take two people to deal with that”. Jim wants to leave and Pam tells him that if he’ll leaves, she’ll kill him.

While watching this episode, everyone was wondering what’s happening to Michael. Jan is also miserable and Michael ends up by being rescued by Dwight. What I found the best moment of episode was Jim and Pam’s attempts to get out of the dinner.

However, I was expecting some funny moments but I missed that.

The Office episodes during this April

The office is running in its 4^th season and 8 episodes of the season 4 have been already aired. Well, two episodes are yet to be aired. Read what you will find in these coming episodes of ‘The Office’-

Dinner Party Air Date: 4/10/2008

Jan and Michael are organizing a dinner party and Jim and Pam have to join them as they have run out of all excuses. Andy and Angela are also asked to join the party and this invitation makes the things complicated. And, Dwight’s jealousy gets the best of him.

This episode will be a special one because it’s the first ‘The Office’ episode to be written and filmed since the ending of the WGA strike. Filming, however, began prior to strike but was left in mid because all characters chose to picket with the writers.

Parking Air Date: 4/17/2008

A chair model in a catalog fascinates Michael. Kevin and Andy use this distraction to their advantage, teaming up to gain parking spaces back for Dunder Mifflin.
