Brian Baumgartner was born on 29 November 1972 in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. He started studying at the Holy InnocentsEpiscopal School and then went to Westminster High School, Atlanta. Ed Burn, an actor who appears with him in the TV series ‘The Office’, has also attended the same school. Both of them were honored by the school in 2007, for their success in Hollywood.

He worked as the Artistic director in Hidden Theatres in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He acted in various theatres like Guthrie Theater, Berkeley Repertory Theatre, Children’s Theater Company, etc. He went to Southern Methodist University and studied acting from its Meadows School of Arts. He is settled in Los Angeles with his wife and daughter.

He has acted in various TV shows like ‘Jake in Progress‘, ‘Arrested Development‘, ‘The Office’ and ‘Everwood‘. He appeared in ‘Last Comic Standing’ as a talent scout. His other acting ventures include ‘License To Wed’, ‘LAX‘, ‘CSI‘, ‘Moosecock‘, etc.

He won a Daytime Emmy-2007 for Outstanding Broadband Program - Comedy for ‘The Office: Accountants’, which is a series of webisodes. He won the Screen Actors Guild Awards for the Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble In a Comedy Series for ‘The Office’ in 2007 & 2008. He was nominated for the same award in 2009 under the same category for ‘The Office’. He has won the Future Classic Award of TV Land Awards -2008 for ‘The Office’.
