John Krasinski was born on 20 October 1979 in Boston, Massachusetts. He is the son of Dr. Ronald Krasinski and Mary Clare. He grew up in Newton, Massachusetts. He is younger to two brothers Kevin and Paul, who are taller than him. In 1997, he graduated from the Newton South High School. He moved on to study at Brown University and graduated as a playwright. He attended the National Theatre Institute in Waterford, Connecticut. People’s magazine featured him in Sexiest Men Alive issues in 2006 and 2008.
He made his first appearance on stage at the Newton South High school. This was the beginning of his inclination towards acting. After his graduation from Brown University, he moved to New York City. He started by doing some commercials and doing some guest roles on TV shows. He acted in a play written by his former college classmate. The name of the play was ‘What The Eunuch Saw’.
He has done roles in many TV shows like ‘The Office’, ‘Law & Order: Criminal Intent‘, ‘Without A Trace‘ and ‘American Dad’. He also acted in films like ‘Kinsey‘, ‘Jarhead‘, ‘Duane Hopwood’, ‘Shrek the Third‘ and ‘The Holiday‘. His other films include ‘License to Wed’, ‘Dreamgirls’, ‘Smiley Face’ and ‘Away We Go’.
He won the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series for ‘The Office’ in 2007 and 2008. He was nominated for the same award, in the same category and for the same show again in 2009. He was also nominated for the Grand Jury Prize in Sundance Film Festival in category- Dramatic for his film ‘Brief Interviews with Hideous Men’ in 2009.
