Steve Carell who has been playing one of the central characters in the hit comedy series ‘The Office‘ has recently signed up for the lead role in the comedy film ‘Brigadier Gerard’. It is considered that this film is best suited to demonstrate Carell’s comedy talent. We have also seen his amazing performance in the film ‘Get Smart’ and the television series ‘The Office’.
In ‘The Office’ he plays Michael, one of the central characters in the series. He is the regional manager of the Scranton branch of paper distribution company Dunder Mifflin.
He has a really funny role in the series where he insists that everyone in the office think of him as a friend first, a boss second, and probably an entertainer third. He tries to provoke a lot of laughter by saying inappropriate things, which are actually not funny for his colleagues. Steve has done justice to his role in ‘The Office’ and has made us laugh.
As far as the film is concerned, it is based on a collection of short stories penned by Arthur Conan Doyle, author of Sherlock Holmes. The film revolves around Etienne Gerard, a solider who is overconfident when it comes to his swordsman skills. However, his actual skills fade off when brought in light and compared with his actual conception.
Well, we all hope that Carell will perform very nicely in his upcoming film as he has done in the past and keep entertaining his fans with his good work. Here’s wishing him all the very best for his new project.
Just as The Office is about to hit the screen for the next season, Craig Robinson playing the role of Daryl was charged with possessing drugs including ecstasy when he was asked to pull over by a traffic cops in Los Angles. He was arrested on June 29. Robinson can avoid jail term if he pleads guilty to drug possession.
Law requires of him to stay clean and complete all therapy sessions before all charges are dropped.
It could not have come on a more inappropriate time when Robinson was riding high on the success of his biggest film role in Pineapple Expresss. He has won a lot of critical acclaim for his role as an atypical hit man in the movie. What’s more, his movie called Zack and Miri make a porno is scheduled to be released in October this year.
It’s quite true that it’s one thing to be successful and another to handle success. Seems that Robinson is drunk high on his recent achievements. What a pity! He is such a good actor and I am sure that his potential is yet untapped. It would be such a shame if we were to ever lose him to drugs and scandal.
Its time for birthday bells in ‘The Office‘, Kate Flannery playing Meredith Palmer turned 44 on 10th of June. This reminds me of her birthday in the first season, she was an accountant over there and all of her colleagues threw a birthday party for her one month prior to her birthday. I am one step ahead of them as I am wishing her belated birthday. Well, the lady is amazing in her role, and an experienced actress can do so well in the role of a drunk and sex addict woman.
She gets a promotion in the same season and gets promoted as Customer/Relations Purchasing. She is twice divorcee and the reason is obvious her drinking problem. She has a son too and she finds a baby sitter for him in the second season.
She is the funniest character in ‘The Office’, I think. Every year she makes resolutions that she will quit drinking and after a few days she is found doing disrupting things while drunk. You know I must compliment the creator of this character, he sure has brains. First of all she is drunkard and then a lady and above all a sex addict too. She can’t recall with whom she slept with, while she was drunk. Her acting is superb in this role and she does justice to her character.
At least, I laugh more at her acts as compared to the others. I like watching this show repeatedly and normally whenever I visit here to watch episodes of ‘The Office’, I chose those episodes in which Meredith is present. I love her whenever she instructs people around her to not to speak loudly even when they are on normal pitch. She has her background in theatre and all the theatre actresses invariably do wonder when they reach silver screen, so is she. Do watch her when she points out that lights are really sharp whenever she enters the office. Her each and every act on the show spreads laughter. I think she is the only senior most female actress on the show, the old wine, one can say.
